Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work

ESAG Chairman HE Easa Saleh Al Gurg, CBE KCVO was honoured by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, today as one of the winners of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work in its 11th edition, which is being held under the patronage of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Accompanying the Chairman to the event were Easa Fareed Al Gurg, Abdul Rahman Abdullah Al Shaibani and Mohamed Farouk, Administration & Accounts Manager, ESAG Charity Foundation. Also honoured at the ceremony for their significant role in the field of volunteerism were HE Juma Al Majid, Chairman of Beit Al Khair Society, Dr Zakir Naik, Islamic preacher and Major General Khamis Mattar a decorated commander of the Dubai police.

The honouring ceremony began with the arrival of the Crown Prince of Sharjah, who was received by Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Endowment and Islamic Affairs Department and Juma Al Majid, Chairman of Dubai Economic Council (DEC) as well as Amin Amiri Secretary-General of the award and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sharjah.

In a speech, HE Humaid bin Mohammed Obaid Al Qattami, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Award, extended his thanks and appreciation to H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan, who founded a unique model for volunteer work and established a distinguished honoring platform for those who are keen to be more useful to their families and nation.       

At the end of the ceremony, HE Easa Saleh Al Gurg praised the vision of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for the creation of this award and as well as assured his continued support and guidance to encourage a system of voluntary work that helps both UAE and countries around the region.
